My first experience with chiropractic was at the age of 3.  I was battling asthma at the time.  As I think back it is very clear to me now that the path I was on was setting me up for a lifetime of medication and continued health problems later in life.  It was not until I started receiving regular chiropractic care that my asthma symptoms disappeared, I was able to stop taking medications and regain health.  I later would learn that the adjustments removed interference in my spine so that my nerve system could work properly and allow my body to heal naturally, on its own.  As a result of this experience, I grew up understanding that chiropractic offers much more than just “back pain” relief.  At Kalkstein Family Chiropractic it is our passion to let every family member experience vibrant health, from seniors all the way down to even the littlest ones.

Parents go to great lengths to ensure the health of their children – they feed them balanced meals, encourage them to exercise, and bring them in for regular dental, vision and hearing check-ups.  But most parents don’t know that a periodic checkup of the nervous system is vital to their child’s health. The nervous system controls and coordinates each part of a child’s development, so as a child rapidly grows and changes it is necessary that this nervous system be free from interference.  With proper technique modification adjusting kids is very safe – one study reported no complications in over 600 treatments!  Many parents report three unexpected improvements with their children’s care:

One of the hardest things for me is to see people who are searching for solutions to health problems, only to be let down again and again by other doctors.  The fundamental problem is that many people are trained to seek out solutions for health problems from a medical community that has a great deal of expertise in emergency crisis situations but a very limited knowledge base in actual health.
